About
Welcome to the Student Iraqi Medical Association – Wales website.
SIMA Wales was established in September 2008 with the aim of providing peer-assisted learning (PAL) to all Cardiff University medical students and in turn raising money for Iraq Relief, a charity that supports various projects in Iraq especially involving Iraqi children, at our academic events.
Our forte is providing Anatomy revision sessions for the pre-clinical students which attract over 450 students over 3 sessions each year and collectively raising hundreds of pounds for our charity Iraq Relief. We also provide clinical tutorials and OSCE sessions for the 3rd year medical students throughout the year and a Finals OSCE revision session weekend course held by a qualified doctor for 5th year medical students.
The SIMA committee are a dedicated group of 14 medical students spanning the 5 year groups of Cardiff Medical school who are keen to help support their peers through the innovative method of PAL and make sure that the teaching sessions are friendly and informal as well as relevant and enjoyable.
This website will be regularly updated and have all the information about the society and the latest on our events that we deliver for Cardiff University medical students.
Whether you are a qualified doctor or a medical student we are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to contribute to this innovative society. If you have any questions or want to get involved please email jafary@cf.ac.uk
